Something is stalking the citizens of Wichita, Kansas, in the dead of night. But after an unpopular rookie cop is given a dead end assignment, the pieces of this bizarre puzzle start to come together.

Frustrating Jumble of Episodes
The beginning is good. Engaging characters, a mystery beast, I was initially impressed. Then suddenly the story switches to new characters, a different focus and then again jumps to another story. The loosely related parts (called episodes here for some reason) make the book more a collection of unfinished short stories than a novel. I really wished he would have just stuck with one story. And I'm not sure why there's more than one narrator. It just made the frequent jumps more glaring.
