Horrible narration, but okay story

The story itself wasn't bad, but fairly predictable. Still it would probably make a decent read. However the narration was horrible! I almost had to ditch the book on audible and pick up the kindle version. The narrator was very choppy when talking, and she did not do different voices well at all. One of the main male characters sounded like he was gay, only to realize he was interested in one of the female characters. It was so bad it was hard to follow. I would not recommend the audible version of this book.

Well done

Enjoyable mystery with a fair amount of suspense. It goes quickly and hard to put down.

Murder in Mind

Story is well told. Lots of drama, action, adventure, courage, & caring. Happy ending! Small town closeness!

Story held my interest but.....

I quickly became annoyed by the frequent I said, he said. Fully half of these should have been I asked or he asked. The narrators male voices were the worst I have listened to .

Not quite believable

This is a strange book! On the one hand it's a page turner, moves along rapidly, taking place within a few days.

However, you may have trouble suspending your disbelief. This ace tough-girl, private investigator doesn't know some of the basics of the field, and yet she has solved all of her cases! Although supposedly assertive, she allows her space to be invaded repeatedly by a male stranger and seems not to mind. She has a previous history of abuse, and now supposedly stands up for herself. It's cringe-worthy the way she accepts being being physically pushed around, demeaned, and even handcuffed by the two "good guys." And her significant other seems to be in the mafia! Sorry but the pieces don't fit.

Great Book

This was a great book! From beginning to end it was a sit on the edge of your seat mystery! My first Cheryl Bradshaw book. I am ready for the next one now! Crystal Sershen has a great voice for this type of book! She is very easy to listen to. The ending was a big surprise. It is a must read!
