Fun Read

Good story (a bit predictable - but not annoyingly so) and continued character development. I enjoy this narrator (listened at a faster speed as I need to do with most narrators) and was rarely distracted by the reading. Definitely looking forward to the next in the series!

Small town book, wonderful.

Such a great book, I am reading them all. Love the small town thing, reminds me of the small town I grew up in.

I am loving this series. Maddie & Robo are an awesome team. While Maddie has made some questionable moves, their continuing story is still great.

Better and Better

It took me a couple of chapters to get invested in Mattie Cobb and her K-9 partner, Robo, but I’m glad I stuck it out. What initially seemed like a simple working relationship quickly blossomed into a heartfelt friendship between the Timber Creek deputy and dog. Vivid descriptions of mountain trails and nicely-drawn characters populate this story, and the twisty plot moves along briskly. Mattie is confronted with danger on many levels, but her quick thinking, perseverance, and brave companion get her through. Her relationship with veterinarian, Cole Walker, is a highlight, and I rooted for them to take the next step. Newly-single-dad Cole has problems too, including a femme fatal and a housekeeper who can’t seem to win over his daughters. And as much as I liked Robo, it was bad boy Bruno, a Doberman, who grabbed my heart. I so enjoyed being in this world envisioned by Margaret Mizushima that I didn’t want the book to end. Guess I’ll have to read the next one in the series!

The characters are further developed and the storyline kept me interested. The dog Robo is a true canine hero !
