Publisher's summary

After a close friend's apparent suicide, Christopher Cornwell receives several photos the friend mailed prior to his death. Cornwell subsequently discovers by chance the presence in one of the photos of Lee Harvey Oswald, the alleged assassin of President Kennedy. But how could Oswald be photographed in a small Hertfordshire market town when he was supposed to be living in Russia as a defector at the same time?

As Cornwell investigates the story behind the photos he unknowingly becomes the target of an investigation himself, by a shadowy agency as determined to maintain its secrets now as in 1963.

Anthony Frewin was born in London and lives in Hertfordshire. He was assistant film director to Stanley Kubrick for over 20 years. He has written three novels, London Blues, Sixty-Three Closure and Scorpion Rising.

Critic reviews

“The great JFK conspiracy novel... the assassination in Dealey Plaza will never seem the same again. Darkly imaginative and believable... a totally original ‘secret history’ of our time” (Larry Celona, Chief Crime Correspondent, New York Post)

A welcome addition to the JFK conspiracy roster!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Most highly! This is VERY compelling read, by an author/performer duo who I hope to hear much more from in the future. Fascinating twists, no massive suspensions of disbelief required...just damn good suspense and enough personality to keep the listener on their toes...or..whatever is your favourite expression!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Our victim/hero was compelling, but I liked Georges.

What does Paul Thornley bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

His authentic accents and attitude are very approachable and compelling.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I wouldn't say extreme, but man, I was hooked!

Any additional comments?

This is a VERY worthwhile read, and I can't recommend it high enough. ( Why not 5's across the board? The story does jump around at times, and the editing quality does leave somethings to be desired).
Notwithstanding, the creative idea, and subsequent movement of the storyline to advance the idea, are wonderful, with enough character development ( and engagement ) that the listener is pulled along in a whirlwhind of drama and suspense.
Spend the credit, and enjoy as much as I did!
