Wow, that was intense!

Set on the central eastern coast of England, Sister Sister is the story of sisters Claire and Alice who were separated when Claire was 9 years old and Alice was 4. Their dad left Claire and her mother as he took Alice with him to Florida. Now, more than a quarter century later, Claire is an attorney married to an artist and they have two daughters. Claire's mother lives with the couple. After years of searching for Alice, Alice suddenly contacts her mother and sister from her Florida home. That merely sets up the novel.

In the tradition of great psychological thrillers Sister Sister grabs the readers attention and will simply not let go; it is a wild ride with many twists and turns as the likely crazed or evil person changes with each twist. Sister Sister is a must listen audio book.

Helen Keeley's narration with her clipped east coast English accent is simply perfect for the geographical location of Sister Sister.

made me scream in annoyance

Firstly, the narrator was fine except for the terrible American accent and the way she said fam-i-ly which drive me crazy.
spoilers below

The story, however, was ludicrous and the main character was a wimp. Why did she never confront her husband? any normal person would've asked him why he believes a woman he barely knows over his own wife. The husband goes from sweet and concerned to borderline abusive, swearing and calling her "f*ed in the head",etc. And instead of telling him off, she just takes it. When Alice clearly begins showing her true colors, Claire still keeps doubting herself and then when she confronts Alice, she never gets proof. Why doesn't she just take some pictures on her phone? Set up a hidden camera? Demand a DNA/paternity test? Take her kids and leave? When Alice is in the hospital, wait till her mother comes and show her the wrong eye color?
The ridiculous way the main character acts and lack of simply talking clearly to her family make the whole book incredibly annoying and difficult to listen to.

Most frustrating book ever...weak woman...again.

My description says it all. Not boring, bit worse, frustrating, and the main character needed to get some guts. Sigh....not how i would have handled the situation. OY

I agree with most reviews

The book is worth a listen, for sure. I haven't read anything from Fortin prior to this and I love psych thrillers. There are some "holes" but, not enough to throw off the reader/listener. I enjoyed the ride

Characters were unbelievable

The plot was decent and I thought the narrator did a good job, but I could not get past the way the main character's family, particularly her husband, treated her or how she didn't even care! It was very unbelievable.

I thought I had it figured out...

I thought I had it figured out and then I got a surprise I really didn't see coming. I felt a bit disappointed and also that there were some story holes. But very good just the same. Definitely recommended listening.

Good summer read

well narrated, but fewer stars because it was too predictable and there was a glaring error which editors should have caught.

Loved it!

Loved it! It had a twist that I wasn't expecting! I kept trying to guess and got it wrong everytime. Although. I loved the book, I think it could have done without all the Fbombs. no reason for it at all.
