Publisher's summary

A mysterious chain letter is only the beginning to an inescapable nightmare.

Victoria Owens's life takes a sudden turn after she receives an unexpected chain letter about her upcoming high school reunion. She's quick to dismiss the letter and focus instead on her busy day, amidst a preoccupied husband and eleven year-old-daughter. But the letter is only the beginning of a series of anonymous gifts, each more bizarre than the next, which shed light on a past long forgotten. Suspicious of her newfound admirer, Victoria soon finds herself trapped in a dangerous game of vengeance and betrayal, where her survival hangs in the very balance with every move that she makes.

terrible first narrator

The first narrator is painful to listen to with awkward pauses and an overall uncomfortable cadence. I was hopeful as I started that she wouldn't be farther than the first book, but she handled the entire first set. The following two narrators were ones I had listened to before and enjoyed. They definitely helped in redeeming the set, but the first narrator needed to be mentioned.

Excellent

These three are masters at delivering tense, chilling stories, filled with twists and turns to usually surprising ending. All enjoyed and well done. The narration definitely added to the stories. Given audio for my voluntary review

Uneven Collection at Best

if you'd like a consistent well edited storyline with well developed characters and a decent narrator skip the first three books altogether. The second series is fair to middling. And the last series was pretty decent but is sold as a box set all on it's own so be careful that you haven't already got those. All in all not worth the credit unless you just have one to waste.

Great books

I don’t see how anyone could give this set a bad review! I enjoyed everyone of them.!!! Gripping suspense! Kept me on the edge. I highly recommend each book. Very good narrators as well.

Three stars because of the first book

I really liked the first book in this. The narrator made me loose interest by the third and I couldn’t listen anymore. She made the men sound like creepy perverts and I just couldn’t handle it anymore.

Soooooooo Cliche. Elementary Writing.

Reads as though written by a JR High student. Elementary, at best, writing style. Cliche characters. Dialog is banaI and uninspired. I can barely write this review, as I have lost IQ points from listening to this. No kidding.

I only made it through The Secret Letter, so don't know if the rest of the set is any good.

The poor narration, by Ramona Master, only made this worse. She sounded like a cross between Fargo and a Valley Girl. Very whiny tone.

I truly dislike writing such a negative review, but I dislike more wasting a credit.

This wasn't even a good beach or cleaning-the-house read.

Is this a joke?

It has to be a joke! The narration AND storyline are so horrible!!!! Audible can’t possibly be affiliated with this low class type of work...it just can’t be!!!
