Publisher's summary

For Jonathan Grave and Gail Bonneville, the Crystal Sands Resort is the perfect getaway - until gunshots shatter the night. Wealthy guests are yanked out of their sleep, herded like animals, forced to submit to their captors' demands. But Jonathan and Gail are no ordinary vacationers. The assassins who invade their bungalow receive a deadly surprise. And two determined, skilled operatives escape into the jungle. Jonathan and Gail are not the only free agents on the island.

Cut off from his usual tactical team, with a pair of unlikely allies he can't fully trust, Grave's only hope of reliable back-up is his partner Boxers, who's hundreds of miles - and hours - away. It won't be long before the invaders turn this tropical paradise into the powderkeg that will set off global chaos. Grave may be without weapons, but he's never without resources. Bold action is the only solution. Like the scorpion, Grave must strike fast and hard....

Corey snow is good, but ....

Corey M Snow is not Basil Sands

It is an acceptable read but when you are used to a cadence and voice acting performance a change this drastic can take you out of the book.
still worth a listen.

Bring the original readers back !!!

I have enjoyed the whole series so far. I was disappointed in this book because they changed the readers, and it took away from certain character's personalities.

Where is Basil Sands?

Love the series, but was shocked by the change of narrator. And not shocked in a good way. Miss the character definition and distinction Mr Sands was able create, that Mr Snow was not able to duplicate. Disappointing.

Basil Sands is missing

I have listened to all of this series & enjoyed each one. The first time I ordered this one I just couldn’t listen to the new narrator so I returned it. I finally reordered because I enjoy the series so much.
I did enjoy the story as many of the previous characters returned to work together, making their “adventures “ interesting. But I know I missed a lot of it because I struggled with the “NOT Basil” narrator. He doesn’t distinguish characters well-male/female, Russian accent isn’t consistent, oddly theatrical.
The worst- not having the “real” Boxers voice , or Venice’s voice & their attitudes. Very little difference between any of them. Sad.

New Narrator a Mistake

No offense to the new narrator, don't know why there was a change but the books really lose something without Big Guy's voice.

Dynamic action

It kept me tense and very afraid for the characters in every chapter. I did miss the old character voices. It was difficult distinguishing the characters at times, but the story was great.

Good book but why didn’t you use Basil

The book was great and the narrator was good but I don’t understand why they change narrators.

It is not that this narrator was bad he was good but I am used to Basil Sands.

ACTION PACKED!!! May be the best of the series!!!!

This book sure took me by surprise! I started listening and within oh maybe the first 3 or 4 minutes the action began. Terrorists invade an island resort and begin shooting some people at the resort bar and herding others into a small group.
Jonathan Graves and Gail Bonneville are sleeping in their bungalow which is the furthest from the main building. When the shooting began working it's way towards them Jonathan prepares himself with the only weapon he has- a benchmade knife. So, he takes his knife to a gun fight and of course wins. They take the terrorists weapons and run for the trees, picking up three tag alongs. Jonathan is able to get through to Mother Hen who mobilizes a team of Jonathan's friends and associates. Most are indebted for either their freedom or their lives.
Okay!! We got some action going on now!! This book does not stop or even slow. This is a plot driven book with suspense and a super fast pace. Once I started listening I could not put this down.
Corey Snow does a great job narrating.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Jonathan grave does it again

Jonathan grave does it again here with good narration from Corey Snow. These books are action packed Good Guy Beats Bad Guy stories. I use them periodically because they provide a comparatively lighter entertainment alternative to some of the really intricately woven or particularly brutal books I usually find myself reading. I put this series in the lower section of the top tier in my library, they are well written and entertaining but not as heavy as a lot of my preferred reading.
