Publisher's Summary

Katie Connell is a high-strung attorney whose sloppy drinking habits and stunted love life collide hilariously in a doomed celebrity case in Dallas. When she flees Texas for the Caribbean, Katie escapes professional humiliation, a broken heart, and a wicked bloody mary habit, but she trades one set of problems for another when she begins to investigate the suspicious deaths of her parents on the island of St. Marcos.
She's bewitched by the voodoo spirit of an abandoned house in the rainforest and discovers that she's as much a danger to herself as the island's bad guys are. As the worst of her worlds collide, Katie drags herself back to the courthouse to defend her new friend Ava, an island local accused of stabbing the senator she's been sleeping with.

it gets better... No spoilers

after listening to the first 2 chapters i went back to look at the other reviews to decide if it was worth finishing. the narration and the story line were painful, but i agree with the other reviewers that the story does get better making it easy to overlook that as you get into the book. the heroine made me cringe early in but she did redeem herself. i will probably look into the second book in the series.

Save yourself

What disappointed you about Saving Grace?

Ashley Ulery is a HORRIBLE reader. Her reading is so bad I couldn't get through the first chapter. This might be a good book, but I'll never find out because I am so turned off by Ulery's attempt at reading it. I LOVE audiobooks and have heard hundreds of them. This is the worst EVER.

What could Pamela Fagan Hutchins have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

She could have selected a professional reader (actor, perhaps). Lorelei King is one of my favorites.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Her reading was so distracting I couldn't even "hear" the book.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

I don't know... I couldn't get past chapter 1. It was awful.

Any additional comments?

Thank you for asking.
