A room is unearthed, and it contains a treasure trove of artwork, rare books, a chest of jewelry...and a perfectly mummified body. A closer examination of the murdered man's possessions reveals a valuable first edition of Jules Verne's A Journey to the Center of the Earth. Hidden in the book is a secret map that unveils an even greater hoard of treasures. As reporters and art appraisers flock to Sonoma to see the precious bounty, questions begin to rise. Ripped from the Pages

I love a good "who done it," especially when I can't figure out "who done it." I look forward to another novel by this author.

Plot problems

The author needs a better editor to catch discrepancies in the plot and to keep from making her intelligent characters stupid just to further the plot. This would have been an interesting story even without the 2nd murder. Kudos to her for an ending without the main character in danger, tho.
