One of his best!

'One of my most favorite Francis titles - though really, how can I choose?!, there are so many that fit that category ... Banker, Hot Money, For Kicks, Longshot, High Stakes, Rat Race, Blood Sport, Straight, Flying Finish ... heck, I could just list them ALL. And another fine performance by Simon Prebble; his voice fits Mr. Francis' characters so well. I'm in awe at his talent; he's the best Francis narrator. Please, Audible, get ALL his titles (unabridged). Thanks!

One Of Francis' Best: An Entertaining Story

I like just about all of Dick Francis' stories and have listened to several. I think this is one of his best, if not the best, of his stories. However, I think that you should like British stories and narrators in order to fully enjoy.

This story is well described in the publisher's summary, and it is truly a treacherous story of greed, deception, and murder. Most importantly for me, this story held my attention so well that I couldn't wait to find out who the bad guy(s) were. Dick Francis' suspense stories are unlike stories by authors such as Michael Connelly and John Grisham. These stories are generally, in some way, centered around the horse racing world and were written a long time ago.

Dick Francis' stories are very easy listening and you will know early on whether or not the story has captured your attention. Narrator Simon Prebble always gives an excellent performance.
