The latest sexy and suspenseful GhostWalker novel from the New York Times best-selling author of Spider Game.

When radical terrorists take hostages in Indonesia, Captain Ezekiel Fortunes is called to lead the rescue team. There are those in the world willing to do anything for power like that. A formidable spy genetically engineered to hide in plain sight, Bellisia rarely meets a man who doesn't want to control her or kill her. But Zeke's different. His gaze, his touch, they awaken feelings inside her she never thought possible. He's the kind of man she could settle down with - if she can keep him alive.

Back to the original Ghostwalker feel!

I had gotten a bit put out over the last few Ghostwalker stories. The heroes were overbearing to the point of being verbally abusive, and it sickened me (I didn't even read Spider Game because several reviewers made similar complaints). The sex was gratuitous and unnecessary to the plot (and was borderline abusive IMO). I don't mind a steamy scene or two, but I don't want it taking up over 60% of the book.

After waiting a few days to read some of the reviews, I decided to give CF one more chance with Power Game. I'm glad I did! This has the feel of the earlier Ghostwalker stories. The hero is alpha, but not disgustingly so. The heroine kicks butt on her own, but also accepts help without being a doormat or railroaded.

I'm also glad at least one long-time storyline has ended. I feel like CF lets series go on too long, sometimes, without any real resolutions. I feel like at least one loose thread got snipped with this story.

Finally, while Jim Frangione did a fantastic job with the narration, I really missed Tom Stechschulte. He's the voice of the Ghostwalkers for me.

So, overall, I'm glad to say I can recommend this book to my fellow Ghostwalker fans. I feel like the series is back on track!

Any additional comments?

OH Boy!! this was and Excellent story!! Kudos to Christine Feehan for and great addition to the GhostWalker series!!

Nonny/Grace Fontenot has become a GW in her own right. She is the idea of everyone's adorable grandmother. Power Game starts off with Nonny who has housed 9 of her grandsons GW friends. This is Ezekiel Fortunes story and his paired mate Bellisia Adams. Ezekiel is a doctor and a the Captain of the PJ GhostWalker team. Nonny has the second sight and is sending Ezekiel on an errand to town for her. Nonny knows that's were he will meet the GW female Bella he has been paired with by Dr. Peter Whitney.

Bellisia has remarkable GW Octopi DNA and has escaped her handlers Gerald and Adam after her mission to spy on Violet Symthe Freeman for Dr. Peter Whitney. Bella as she is call has information that she overheard while following and spying on Violet Smythe. Violet is one of Whitney enhanced orphans who has turned against her own kind the GW. She has sold the PJ's out to Bernard Lee Cheng who wants to start his own GW army of Soldiers but first he needs to know how it's done and Violet has told him how and were to find the team that is living with Nonny/Grace Fortenot in the Bayou of Louisiana. Cheng wants to capture one of the GhostWalkers extract his DNA and put them through all sorts of tortures test to find out how what they are made of and can endure.

Cheng's forces succeed in capturing Ezekiel, but before he is completely dissected he is save by Bellisia. This begins one action packed and fast pace story.

Power Game is full of the action scenes that GW fans love and of course our favorite heros the GW's kick butt and ask question later. We get to revisit Pepper and Wyatts triplet viper DNA baby girls. Who are just adorable. I just love Ginger, Tyme and Cannelle. Power Game took me on a whirlwind of a ride. I loved all the characters of the PJ team. We get some good revenge in this story as it leads us into the future of were the GW series is going. Oh How Sweet is Revenge!! I won't tell what it is, you will have to read for yourself. But GW fans will be happy about this revenge I assure you. What amazes me is some of the parallels of what has happen in the current elections in the United States and how power can drive crooked elected government leaders to show there prejudice for human beings of different races. Its as if Christine Feehan could see into the future or had some uncanny vision of what's was happening in the real world around us. The ridiculous and the dangerousness of Prejudice comes out in this story. Thank Goodness the Good Guys Win the Day!!

I Highly Recommend Power Game its worth the cost and it won't let you down. Its written in the true Ghostwalker fashion with a semi steamily sensual love relationship between Ezekiel and Bellisia. The sex has been toned way down. Power Game is about the story of people who want power at all cost!! with a lovely and sweet romance between Ezekiel and Bellisia!!

GOOD BUT NOT MY FAVORITE

I love Christine Feehan's books and this happens to be one of my favorite series, however, this one just kind of fell flat for me. I didn't feel the flow I am used to. It was a little repetitive in places. A statement would be made and a couple of paragraphs down, the same thing would be said again, sometimes using the same exact words and sometimes changed up a bit but meaning the same thing.

Now about the narration. First, I need to say that I am a HUGE Tom Stechschulte fan, that being said, I do try to give new to me or new to a series narrators a chance. Though
Mr Frangione does have a pleasant enough voice, I just felt that I was being read to and not being emersed in the story and transported into the
GhostWalker world. I listen with ear buds and all of the voices just sounded alike to me. The pitch in the women's voices, though a touch higher, sounded the same except for
the accents. My biggest issue was
with the voice and Cajun accent of Nonny. Not what I expected. I understand all narrator's have their own way of narrating, but I just wasn't liking the change after so
many books into the series. Mr Frangione had some big shoes to fill
after us having had the pleasure of Mr Stechschulte expertise. I don't know why the change was made, and I hope it wasn't due to illness or worse on Mr Stechschulte's part, and wish someone will let us know why a change was made. If this is a permanent change, I will still listen to future books, but, in my humble opinion, if it could been avoided, a change shouldn't have been made.

Classic Ghostwalker.

Zeke is kind of passive at first. Belesia is the more interesting personality of the pair. Or course they were paired together by Whitney. Both deadly in their own skill set, Belesia is quite appealing as a ghostwalker addition. Though she has some insecurity when it comes to settling down in one place, Zeke finds his way to winning her over. All of the ghostwalker men are singleminded in this one thing...they don't take no for an answer. So in Zeke's mind there is no question, Be!la is his women. The insecurities Bella has play true throughout this book as she fights for her newly found family. The Bayou and the Fontinues are a perfect setting for this pair as well.

I was also glad that the sex scenes were paired down in comparison to the last couple of books. Also the narration was spot on. I enjoyed every minute of the narration. so all things considered, I give this 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

So much better than the last several

I love love love the new narrator! I think the last guy was good, but he was sounding off in the last book. Maybe he's just getting old? I noticed it. It was distracting. I like this guy better. I hope she stays with the new one.

This book was great. I really liked it.

I started wondering if I was done with this book series on the last one. I'm not a fan of Trap. He's a bit too much. That last book was too much of a lot of things, and not enough actual story. But, this one made up for it.

Last Feehan book for me

Feehan descends deeper into mediocrity and degradation with each book. Read most, but. no more.

Power Game

Love the story and the reader was good. I wish Tom Stechschulte was the reader, he was wonderful at the different voices and accents.

Boring, Boring

What disappointed you about Power Game?

Sex is great, but so sO SO much sex written into this story was mind numbingly..boring.

Where was the sci-fy? There was sci-fy, but mostly from reading previous books. Where was the action?? There was action, but only a tiny bit.

I tried twice to finish this book but finally sent it back.

Very disappointing from a favorite author.

What happened?

The story started out good and ended abruptly, something I'd never expected from this author. I feel as if the rug was yanked out from under my feet.
