Endearing Characters

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes. Jane Oppenheimer did a wonderful job narrating this delightful tale of retirees in Door County stuck in the middle of a murder mystery. The characters are likable, believable, and endearing.

What was one of the most memorable moments of On the Road to Death's Door?

I particularly liked the shift in the relationship between Sheriff Pelletier and the main character, Emily Remington. Because of Emily's excellent investigative skills and tenacity, the sheriff accepts her help and comes to deeply respect her. It was also interesting to learn about the bombing in Madison, Wisconsin.

What does Jane Oppenheimer bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Ms. Oppenheimer has a soothing voice that's easy to listen to which is perfect for this cozy mystery. She also subtly changes her voice for each of the characters in a way that helps to picture them.

awesome story

I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher. This book was great. The plot was original and refreshing. There were unexpected twists and turns. The narrator did an awesome job. My only negative thing was that in the beginning it was a pretty slow starter. I thought it could have moved a lot faster but once it got going, it kept going. Glad I read it.
