Publisher's Summary

The crew of an oceanic research vessel goes missing in the Pacific along with their mini submarine.
An evangelical media star holds a rally next door to a cinematic convention in LA. The cops know there's going to be trouble, but what they didn't foresee was the presence of a Glaswegian photographer with an indecipherable accent and a strong dislike of hypocrisy or of a terrorist who seems to have access to plutonium as well as Semtex.

Excellent story, abysmal Scottish accent

Brookmyre's books are always irreverent, sharply wry and very funny, and this one is no exception. However, as a Scot, the accent put on by the American narrator was so awful as to be an insult - badly pronounced slang, little comprehension of how the slang should sound and no discernible area of Scotland represented - it certainly wasn't Lanarkshire!

Relevant for all times and religions

insightful look at the rational of extremists who use religion as their calling card and who can't love a Motherwellian take on LA.

I want my money bsck

struggled and felt sickened listening to emotive religious zealot ranting. This author is usually wonderful. The narrator's voice was brilliant. my score in no way reflects his great work. Rather I wanted to give the lowest score possible.
