Publisher's Summary

The second book in the Chris Ryan Extreme series. Former SAS hero John Bald is a man at war with himself and fighting a losing battle with the bottle. But then he is reluctantly thrust back into battle....
In the race to develop ever more powerful weapons, technology has become the new frontline in global terrorism. And when one of America's most cutting-edge defence contractors suspects a sleeper cell operating in its midst, the Firm reaches out to its most cold-blooded son. Bald's mission: kill the sleeper before they can smuggle top-secret weaponry into the hands of the West's deadliest enemies. But the mission goes sideways, and Bald is the fall guy. Now he must pursue the sleeper from the ghettos of Florida to the war-torn streets of Tripoli, in a relentless hunt for the technology and the truth. Shadowed every step of the way by a ruthless CIA hit man, Bald soon finds that the lines between friend and enemy are blurred, and he'll have to call on all his warrior instincts to stay alive...
The Chris Ryan Extreme books take you even further into the heart of the mission with even more extreme action, more extreme language, and more extreme pace. Like Call of Duty or Medal of Honor, you'll feel part of the team.

Review

The poorest quality book I have read and almost 5 years. Terrible storyline, not the best narration and would not recommend.

Extreme excitment, extreme language.

They breed em tough in the Regiment. These guys are indestructible. Joe Gardiner is back albeit in a support role. Some interesting bylines starting to develop as these characters blast their way across 3 continents. The sound effects are tiresome, and the ability of the Regiment soldiers might be a tad exaggerated. If you are sensitive to bad language, you might want to give this one a miss.

un necessarily crude and violent

I have given this a low rating because I had to abandon it. It was my husband who wanted to download it,so I suppose I should that it should be him reviewing it...yeah like that is going to happen.

This review is aimed at any wife who thinks they'll give it a go.

I don't mind Andy McNab who is of the same genre, and is also very violent and crude, but has a reasonable story line. But Chris Ryan is so unnecessarily crude and sexually violent towards any woman that he writes about that I just got fed up with it. The way Chris Ryan writes I think he must absolutely dispise women. The swearing I agree is part and parcel of this sort of book but this is truely excessive to the point of putting you off the listen, and loosing the point of the story, which was thin to say the least.

The narration is soooo aggressive it had me flinching, it that helped to make the whole thing a real turn off, in every sense.

Sorry Chris Ryan I won't use my credits on you again..... but my husband probably will.

Stupid

This is just about the most stupid thing I have ever listened to. Beggars belief just how incredulous this is, from pointless sexual violence (which is never explained), to ridiculous turns of events. Even for an "action" book, this is plain silly. The sound effects are a joke too.
