Publisher's Summary

In Naked Prey, John Sandford puts Lucas Davenport through some changes. His old boss, Rose Marie Roux, has moved up to the state level and taken Lucas with her, creating a special troubleshooter job for him for the cases that are too complicated or politically touchy for others to handle. In addition, Lucas is now married and a new father, both of which are fine with him: He doesn't mind being a family man. But he is a little worried. For every bit of peace you get, you have to pay - and he's waiting for the bill.
It comes in the form of two people found hanging from a tree in the woods of northern Minnesota. What makes it particularly sensitive is that the bodies are of a black man and a white woman, and they're naked. "Lynching" is the word that everybody's trying not to say - but, as Lucas begins to discover, in fact the murders are not what they appear to be, and they are not the end of the story. There is worse to come - much, much worse.
Filled with the rich characterization and exceptional drama that are his hallmarks, this is Sandford's most suspenseful novel yet.

It's Sanford and Your Money's Worth

Holy Moley! This is my 21st Sandford/Audio Book and I've never given one less than 13 stars. Have you heard someone say, upon leaving a $100 million plus summer action/adventure movie, "Well, regardless of everything, you can totally see the money they spent up there on the screen."? Well that's the thing about Sanford's novels - he gives me back the money and time I've invested in his books - and more.

Naked Prey's plotted tighter than a beach bunny's bikini with character's sharp as a gossip's tongue. Plus Richard Ferrone's partnered with Sanford often enough to execute the twists and turns of Lucas Davenport's adventures like a Top-Gun pilot.

'Naked Prey' introduces Letty West, a new character who I really wanted to survive 'Naked Prey's ending... But knowing Sandford, you never know... Nope, never. As always, even though 'Naked Prey' stands alone as a story, I recommend that you start listening to Lucas Davenport from the beginning. That's the strength of Audible, the books are never "out-of-print" so a series character can mature right along with us.

If you like cop-plots - I recommend 'Naked Prey' with 15 stars.

Love Lucas Davenport

I hope this series continues until Lucas and Weather are grandparents. Their children can take up where the parents left off.
