This collection contains two stories involving the characters from Do Wah Diddy Die and one stand alone short that was originally published in an anthology.
"Do Wah Diddy Dead:" If Miss Weena can put off dying to solve Miss Gracie's murder, then Luci can't play the pregnancy card to get out of playing her sidekick. It's not like it will be dangerous. Afterall, Miss Gracie has been dead for decades...
"Do Wah Diddy Die Already:" Luci Seymour is out of the murder business and in the mom/wife/B&B business. Until the morning she sees a body in the new freezer. But when she goes to call in her homicide detective husband, she sees the dead guy walk in the front door. Not dead... Not even chilly...
"Deleting Dennis:" Capri Hinkenlooper thought her name - and Monday mornings - were the worst things in her life, but then her fellow editor, and all around slimy guy, gets deleted with her letter opener. On the upside, the two homicide detectives investigating the murder are seriously cute...

Delightful short mysteries!
This collection is exactly what it professes to be, an anthology of mystery short stories by Pauline Baird Jones. Two of the three stories involve characters from Do Wah Diddy Die. Not ever having read or listened to this book in the series, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I should not have worried. I easily caught on to the story line and was delighted by the resident ghosts! I’m seriously considering buying Do Wah Diddy Die - the first audio book in the series - to see where it all began!
"Do Wah Diddy Dead" is set in the ancestral home of Luci Seymour, a sexy and free spirited cop from in New Orleans. She’s now married, very pregnant, and happy living with the family ghosts - literally. Luci converses with several of them, including Miss Weena and Miss Gracie, who are trying to solve Miss Gracie's murder.
In "Do Wah Diddy Die Already" Luci is now a mom and running a Bed & Breakfast out of the ancestral home. One morning she observes a dead body in the freezer, which disappears before her homicide detective husband can investigate what happened. While waiting for her husband to show up at the B&B, she sees the same dead guy walking around upstairs.
"Deleting Dennis" is a cute short story centering on book editor Capri Hinkenlooper who works in a small publishing house. One morning an obnoxious co-worker gets killed with Capri’s letter opener. Capri finds it hard to focus on and cooperate with the investigation because the two detectives looking into the murder are distractingly handsome.
Lucinda Gainey’s narration was good. She had good intonation and tone for the differing characters. The stories moved quickly and I was engrossed in listening to them as I was driving to work.
