Pretty Good

This was an entertaining addition to a pretty good series. I think I would like it better if I read the book instead of listened to it. The narrator isn't suited for this story.

Narrator sounds like she's "reading"

Would you consider the audio edition of Murder on Wheels to be better than the print version?

No. I really like these stories, but the narrator sounds like she's reading the book to us. She's very stiff and formal. I suppose I am spoiled because Xe Sands is one of my most favorite narrators (she would have been PERFECT for this series). Ms. Sands is very casual, relaxed and sounds like she's just talking to us. Ms, Boyce should listen to some of her books and then re-think how she narrates.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I think if I were READING this series instead of would be Aunt Jackie. But in the audio version Aunt Jackie sounds curt and rude, as if everything has to be her way or no way, no middle ground. Even when she's trying to portray "affection" for her niece, she sounds snobby and uppity.

What three words best describe Susan Boyce’s performance?

Pleasant voice?

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Well, made me sad that it could have come off better with a different narrator or just more life into the narration. Ms. Boyce is so stiff, dull and EXACT.

Any additional comments?

This will be the last series I listen to with Ms. Boyce as the narrator. Sorry!
