Publisher's summary

Jessica Fletcher finds herself in an incredibly compromising situation, awakening on a lobster boat adrift in Cabot Cove to discover she's not alone: there's a dead body aboard.

Jessica soon finds herself in a swirling investigation that involves the sleepy town of Cabot Cove and its lobstermen. The town wants to throw a gala pageant to attract tourists, and the town's board wants the lobstermen to hold off selling recent harvests in order to serve the inevitable demand. The fishermen are not pleased with this strain on their livelihoods. Tempers begin to flare, but no one could foresee that the escalation of accidents and mishaps would end in murder... with Jessica at the center of it all.

Enjoyable and light

A good light read where you can’t guess the killer. I enjoyed the Cabot Cove vignettes. I look for books without suspense and tension. This is great one.

Fisherman, Lobsters, Murder and Jessica!!!!

Would you consider the audio edition of Murder, She Wrote: The Maine Mutiny to be better than the print version?

Didn't read the print version but the vocal characterizations made the story so much more interesting. The reader has developed the characters nicely.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes, of course I tried to figure out who did what but the story had me listening until the end and I still didn't get it right.

Best in the Series (That I've Read)

Would you consider the audio edition of Murder, She Wrote: The Maine Mutiny to be better than the print version?

I didn't read the print so I'm not sure, but I think the Narrator is great.

What does Cynthia Darlow bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The different voices are very good. She's not EXACTLY Jessica's voice from the TV show, but she still delivers a performance that really grows on you.

Any additional comments?

This book is the best I've read in the series (also enjoyed Domestic Malice), and I think it's because it takes place actually in Cabot Cove. I think that's where these books are the strongest.

Another Excellent Murder, She Wrote Audiobook

Would you listen to Murder, She Wrote: The Maine Mutiny again? Why?

I will certainly listen to this book again. I believe I own all of the Murder, She Wrote audiobooks and I enjoy listening to them every few months. The TV show was my favorite all the years it was on and I was thrilled to find out someone (Donald Bain) was writing books with that theme. Cynthia Darlow mimics Angela Lansbury's voice perfectly.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Starting the story with a cliffhanger, with Jessica in danger, was an excellent plot ploy. The story never lagged.

Which character – as performed by Cynthia Darlow – was your favorite?

Of course, Jessica was my favorite character. But Doc Hazlett and the sheriff are always entertaining.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I would have enjoyed listening to the book in one sitting but, since I listen mostly when in my car, that wasn't possible. I did also listen while on my morning walks.

Any additional comments?

I am hoping that all the Murder, She Wrote books will come out on audiobooks. With my busy schedule, audiobooks allow me to

Cynthia Darlow Super Fan

I literally looked up books that Cynthia Darlow narrated after listening to her “Texas” accent in a book just finished. I was not disappointed by the Murder She Wrote books she has narrated. I’m not crazy about the ‘he said’
, ‘she said’ that is more pronounced on Audiobooks vs written pages. I found myself wanting to listen without pause. I’ve listened to two Murder She Wrote today!

Love the MSW book series

Love this series! Great plot, very cozy and yet somehow still suspenseful. Narrator was also nice to listen to!
