Publisher's Summary

From Margaret Moseley, the Edgar Award-nominated author of the best-selling Bonita Faye, comes a wickedly funny, delightfully unusual mystery novel featuring a very unlikely detective.
Millicent Le Sueur is an eccentric, obsessive-compulsive bag lady in a rural Southern town who witnesses the hit-and-run killing of a teenage girl. Or so she claims. Some townsfolk believe she killed the girl and made up the story to cover her crime.
Battling her neuroses and psychoses, and counting her steps along the way, she tracks a killer she hopes won't count her as the next victim.

Most of it is unbelievable.

I received a free copy of this audiobook from the author / narrator / publisher in exchange for an unbiased review.

I like my mystery novels to be grounded in reality. When characters are close to reality, it makes you connect with them and experience the story from their perspective. But in this book, the characters and the world around them works in abnormal ways. Take the main character for example. A seemingly crazy and homeless bag lady is getting money and help from everyone in town and then people start accusing her of the crime and then this crazy lady goes on her own investigation..!! Come'on. All the situations surrounding her are implausible and full of flight of fancy. In my opinion, the character should've been written quite a bit more realistically.

The mystery bit isn't that mysterious either. After following the story for a bit, I was able to make my guess about who the actual culprit is.

Interesting

Not your typical main character but a great listen overall. Great narrator who brought the characters to life with all their quirks. I received a free review copy of this audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.
