Publisher's summary

Where is Kent Heyward?

The 23-year-old heiress from one of Charleston's oldest families vanished a month ago. When her father hires private investigator Liz Talbot, Liz suspects the most difficult part of her job will be convincing the patriarch his daughter tired of his overbearing nature and left town. That's what the Charleston Police Department believes.

But behind the garden walls South of Broad, family secrets pop up like weeds in the azaleas. The neighbors recollect violent arguments between Kent and her parents. Eccentric twin uncles and a gaggle of cousins covet the family fortune. And the lingering spirit of a Civil-War-era debutante may know something if Colleen, Liz's dead best friend, can get her to talk.

Liz juggles her case, the partner she's in love with, and the family she adores. But the closer she gets to what has become of Kent, the closer Liz dances to her own grave.

Fantastic!

The only thing wrong with this series is waiting for the next installment! The quality is wonderful as is the narrator!

The heroine is a favorite,

The series continues on a pleasant path. In these books, one gets a flavor of the slow and gentle south. However, this translates into a slow-paced plotline.

The series is getting better

This is the best yet in the series- I'm just hoping in the next book Colleen gets special dispensation to let Nate know about her.

Good mystery, Southern Charm

Very enjoyable mystery with a touch of romance - no graphic violence or sex. Lots of southern atmosphere and a realistic relationship between P.I partners Liz and Nate.

The fact that Liz sees the ghost of her childhood friend creates some humorous moments without stretching the bounds of incredulity.

Can't wait for the next book

What made the experience of listening to Lowcountry Boneyard the most enjoyable?

The narrator did such a great job with the southern accent. I love the romance, the family interaction and all of the mystery.

Any additional comments?

Don't miss this wonderful series.

Suspense and romance

Mystery within a mystery in historic Charleston as Liz works through her own relationship issues. My favorite it the series but also a good standalone read.

Best Lowcountry Book yet!!

This is Susan Boyer's best Lowcountry book yet!! She crafts a mighty fine mystery with elements that appeal to me...the Lowcountry of SC as a backdrop, a bit of the paranormal and sexy characters. In Lowcountry Boneyard, Liz & Nate attempt to solve the disappearance of a young SOB (that's South of Broad in Charleston lingo) socialite whose family has deep pockets and a fervent desire to keep their secrets from being revealed. As usual, Liz & Nate's lives are threatened at every turn. Fans of the Liz Talbot books will be glad to know the Liz/Nate story line takes a nice turn at the end. If you love the Lowcountry of SC, this book will make you pine to catch the next ferry to Stella Maris!

Charming southern gothic

More fun and action than a cozy mystery. I have enjoyed them all. Dysfunctional families.
