Jason and Vanessa have returned with a case that will test their faith and their partnership.
The homeless of San Antonio are dying, but apparently from natural causes. Captain Patton is ordered to make sure these cases are not homicide, so he gets with Lieutenant Banks, and requests her best detectives.
Jason will end up doing something that tests his wife's strength while Vanessa will have to pass a test of her own.
Who will survive and who won't?
And who will get a dose of Lethal Injection?

The narrators performance keeps you interested
The action builds rapidly from the beginning. The dialogue between the characters sounds like what you would expect to hear when people are speaking.
I found the length of the story at 2.5 hours to fit perfectly with the material. The producer added a sound effect between setting changes and I really liked that touch. I wish audible would encourage more use of producer imagination.
I have followed Joshua's work and really like his voice. His side effect sighs etc. are well timed. The thing I like best is his talent is growing rapidly with each project. I will keep my eyes posted for new projects. He was good at first and now he is rally good.I would recommend that the listeners take this book out for a test ride.

Fair story. Narrator was just NOT Jason.
Why in the world did the author change narrators? I listened to the last four and came to hear the narrator as THE Jason Strong. The change is rather jarring and I just couldn't get into it. Reminded me of the time the Travis MacGee series changed narrators. Yuk!
Nothing against Mr. Bennington. Some people seem to like him. But listen to the sample first if you are a fan of the series. It's just not the same.
When you find a good narrator for a series...stick with him.
