Publisher's Summary

The most decorated homicide detective in NYPD history, Dave Gurney, is trying to adjust to his life of quasi-retirement when a young woman who is producing a documentary on a notorious murder spree seeks his counsel. Soon after, Gurney begins feeling threatened: a razor-sharp hunting arrow lands in his yard, and he narrowly escapes serious injury in a booby-trapped basement. As things grow more bizarre, he finds himself reexamining the case of The Good Shepherd, which 10 years before involved a series of roadside shootings and a rage-against-the-rich manifesto.
The killings ceased, and a consensus opinion developed that no one would dream of challenging - except Dave Gurney. Mocked even by some who'd been his supporters in previous investigations, Dave realizes that the killer is too clever to be found. The only gambit that may work is also the most dangerous - to make himself a target and get the killer to come to him.

Dave Gurney returns!

This is the third outing for Dave Gurney, the retired, highly respected, New York detective.

I'd read/listened to the two previous offerings and couldn’t wait for the third book to become available in the UK.

Fans of Dave will not be disappointed by this latest offering and I urge new listeners to try him too.

It is read by the excellent Jeff Harding (who also narrates Lee Child's Jack Reacher stories)

If you enjoy the books of Lee Child, Robert Crais and John Connelly then this author is for you!

Excellent book

I think "Let the Devil Sleep" should come under the heading of an unputdownable book. I tried to stagger my listening over a period of time but it didn't work. Now I am listening to it all over again. Jeff Harding is brilliant in his narration. He has the ability to be able to change his voice to suit his subject with great ease which leaves you in no doubt as to who the character is. I would seriously recommend this audio book, it is a brilliant listen.
