She discovers, but cannot remember why, she moved out of her boyfriend's apartment, left her job as an office planner, and moved in with a roommate who herself has mysteriously disappeared. Now trying to reclaim both her mind and her life, she must dare to retrace her steps to the place where the horror began.

A good yarn

I like Nikki French's books, almost without exception. Land of the Living was not my favorite, but I enjoyed the twisting plot. I felt the heroine was a bit shallow and the narrator's depiction of her somewhat over the top, though this excess emerged toward the end of the book. I'll keep reading Nikki French.
