Publisher's summary

Silent at under 5 knots and capable of a massive nuclear punch, the 240-foot-long Russian Kilo Class submarine is one of the stealthiest, most dangerous underwater warships ever built. Every Third World dictator covets the Kilo, and Russia has already fulfilled a fifth of a 10-vessel deal with China. Now it's up to the President's new national security advisor, the irascible Texan Admiral Arnold Morgan, to foil delivery of the other 8 Kilos. Morgan sends the U.S. Navy's most deadly Black Ops hit-squads deep into Russian waters for an operation in which one wrong move could literally start World War III.

This Review Needs A Title...So, I Gave it One

Kilo Class' by all means is a very specific military (Navy) action-thriller that catered to that very reader(ship) group. As the title suggests, it's about submarines. I listened to the 2.5 hour version instead of the 16.5 hour version and enjoyed it very much. I imagine that I obviated all the submarine detail and clutter that obfuscates the plot with minutiae. Looking forward to continuing the story.

Underwater thriller.

Great story of submarine warfare and intrigue. An easy and interesting read that is easily finished.

excellent listening

I had the rare pleasure of actually reading this book before being able to listen to it on audio and the performer in an excellent if not superb job play all the characters and it was like I was reading it all over again definitely and highly would recommend

Another GREAT read ! ! via Audible ! !

Story hit the ground running . Nicely done. The author (s) must be pretty familiar with subs and techniques, such as the historical Russian name for thermoclines. From what I know, these things (polyna sp?) can also hide or help to hide boats in fair waters. I'm not clear as to how they can appear. Perhaps warm currents where none were expected. ? ? In any event I'm not an expert to any degree. Fun to read ! !

Great for a short listen.

If you like Soviet era spy novels, but don't want to spend 15 hours listening to it, this is a good one. A little predictable, but fun none the less.
