You never know what will happen next until the end
Desmond Bagleys stories alway wait until you think that everything will be OK, then he throws a couple more twists into the story to make you shake your head as you smile at the ending

Excessive exposition, wrong-headed narration
Seemed like the story was too much in love with its own verbosity, with too much attention to the premise, not enough to draw in the listener. Not very engrossing to anyone unfamiliar with engineering endeavors and no attempt made to induce listener to care about the characters. Narrator professional, but wrong for this book.
