One of the worst books I've ever read.
This book is so bad, I feel duty-bound to warn other readers. The simplistic writing style and word choices seem to be directed at teenagers or young adults, but the snippets of attempted eroticism make this book inappropriate for the young adult genre. The story line is ludicrous - a woman in her 50s telling an 18 year old girl about the story of her early life replete with dramatic heartfelt exchanges between the woman and her partner, and explicit, descriptive details of the couple's sexual life. There is a twist at the end of the book but, it is a twist that will only appeal to naïve, immature readers and does not justify 9 hours of tedium.
I feel duped for believing the 4 star rating for this book. Jezebel will be the first book I have returned in 12+ years.
