Publisher's Summary

A vicious attack at a ranch in California thrusts archaeologist Erin Granger back into the fold of the Sanguines. Following the prophetic words found in the Blood Gospel, Erin must join forces with Army Sergeant Jordan Stone and Father Rhun Korza to discover and protect a boy believed to be an angel given flesh. But an enigmatic enemy of immense power and terrifying ambition seeks the same child, not to save the world, but to hasten its destruction. For any hope of victory, Erin must discover the truth behind Christ's early years and understand His first true miracle, an event wrapped in sin and destruction, an act that yet remains unfulfilled and holds the only hope for the world. The search for the truth will take Erin and the others across centuries and around the world, to the very gates of Hell itself, where their destiny, and the fate of mankind, awaits.

Critic Reviews

"Fans of THE DA VINCI CODE will find much to admire in Christian Baskous's narration of this religious thriller, complete with an angel on earth. Baskous's voice has a raspy quality that heightens the adventurous mystery at the center of this sequel. He manages capably with archaeologist Erin Granger, making her academic credentials believable with a voice that sounds intelligent and measured. Confident in his style, Baskous transitions easily between dialogue and accents for characters and the narrative of high-action sequences." ( AudioFile)

Disappointed subpar Rollins

I love JR. I've even met him. This story is just painful. I really detest love triangles and even love squares as this book managed. The characters are very one dimensional, which is not typical of Rollins. I'm thinking that collaboration has really just not worked in his favor. I read the first book, but elected audio for the second in the series. Part of my problem could also lie with the narrator who is so sing songish it kills the tale. I cannot stand him. If he narrates the third tale I will skip finishing the series altogether. The lack of character development mixed with poor story telling just makes it not worth the time.

A good next chapter

I enjoyed this next book in the series. It introduced some great new characters whom I hope to see again.
