Publisher's Summary

Maggie Olsen had a pretty ordinary childhood - swimming and sleepovers, movie nights and dad jokes. But then there were the other things...the darker things...the shadow that followed her home from the cemetery and settled into the corners of her home, refusing to let her grow up in peace.
Now, after three years of being away from the place she's convinced she inadvertently haunted, and after yet another family tragedy strikes, Maggie is forced to return to the sweltering heat of a Savannah summer to come to terms with her past. All along, she's been telling herself it was just in your head, and she'd nearly convinced herself that she'd imagined it all. But the moment Maggie steps into the foyer of her family home, she knows. The darkness is still there. And it's been waiting for Maggie's return....

Great Story, Aweful Narration

Have been a fan of Ania Ahlborn for years & her haunting story lines are great so I give this an overall of 4 stars. The narrator was what killed the story. I hung on as long as I could, but after 2/3 through, I finally gave up on the audio & finished it up on Kindle. .

Great if you're in the 8th grade!

I usually really enjoy Ania Ahlborn and i have read the majority of her books. They are creepy and unsettling. Pretty much exactly what I'm looking for. However, I thought this book was terrible. Everything about it. It was impossible to get past the monotone narration. I kept listening thinking the book itself would redeem the narrator. It never did. She spoke in blocks of words. It was impossible for me to like the character, because of it. Having said that, the book was incredibly predictable and reminded me of something I would have read in the 8th grade that would have scared me. I feel awful writing such a bad review. Honestly though, don't waste your time or your credit on this one.
