Publisher's Summary

Attacked by a serial rapist intent on murder, Sergeant Louise Nightingale is recovering in a remote family home, content in the knowledge that the psychopath has been put behind bars for a very long time. Leaving a trail of bodies in his wake, it soon becomes clear that Louise is his ultimate goal. Desperately trying to find Nightingale before the killer does, DCI Andrew Fenwick wonders if her continued silence means he is already too late.

Too Rambling

I had a real hard time reading this book. I almost gave it up, but after reading other people's positive reviews I thought something must be wrong with me and keep on listening. FINALLY when I got to the second download it started to get interesting and I enjoyed the story. It is not a book I would read again.

Love it, love it, love it.

This is the first book I have read (or listened to) by Elizabeth Corely and was seriously impressed. The story was gripping, exciting and full of detail; but interesting detail. Not drowning on about detailing every spec of the scene like some authors. Anyway without giving too much information away, this book is about a yound detective and her senior who try and catch a serial killer and the chase is on! The author has created great characters. You really tune in on everyone, its so well thoought out and not at all over the top - but still very tense.

Excellent book, excellent narration

This is the third Elizabeth Corley book I have listened to via Audible, all were excellent, and each one was better than the last. By sheer luck I managed to listen to them in the "correct" order and that fact made starting this one feel like joining old friends with the same lead characters present.

The story was credible, tense, detailed and never lost it's pace. The characters are all well rounded with enough detail of each provided to add to the story rather than overpower it.

What made this book even better than the previous two from the same author was the narration. I always consider the narration good if I don't notice it and hence it's not distracting from the story! However, this time I must complement the narrator, Charlotte Strevens, she was fantastic and her characterizations were absolutely perfect. So good was she that for the first time I searched Audible for other books she had narrated and will be downloading some in due course.

I recommend this book for both the story and the narration.
