Publisher's summary

Faith McMann comes home to a nightmare: her husband is killed and her son and daughter are taken. Although the intruders leave her for dead, she survives. Crippling grief and fear for her children make life unbearable. Until her anguish turns to anger...and she trades victimhood for vengeance.

Frustrated with the law's efforts, she takes action to rescue her children - and wreaks havoc on the brutal criminals who tore them from her. With her family and newfound allies at her side, Faith descends into the hellish underworld of human trafficking, determined to make those who prey on the innocent pray for mercy.

The forces she's up against have already proven that their ruthlessness knows no bounds. And there's nothing they won't do to turn Faith's crusade into a suicide mission. But they're about to learn that nothing is more dangerous than a mother fighting for her children - especially one who's earned the nickname Furious.

Warning: This is the first in a serialized series!

Furious ends in a cliffhanger situation that will be resolved in future books in the series.

Furious is a serious thriller novel about sex trafficing of children. The suspense is intense and constant. It is a wonderful novel. It is an very troubling novel. It is a solid 5 star novel. Narration is excellent.

furious

The story is good, and deals with a very real horror that takes place right under our eyes. Human trafficking, and although the story itself brings all kids of emotions and does keep you hoping for the main character, the ending was extremely disappointing. I don't know if there is a sequel to this book, but the way it ended makes me think there has to be.
Unsatisfying end. Most mystery thriller novels have at least a happy conclusion to leave the reader satisfied. But not this one.
The performance is great. Good characters, just a lousy ending!!

Disappointed!

Hate spending hours listening only to have it just end without any resolutions. Don't mind serial books as long as each book has a conclusion. Just feels like a waste of time when you finish.

gripping

I believe that this is T.R. Ragans debut, it's hard to wrap my mind around human trafficking...I loved the characters that are so fearless, and a mother's fury. Edge of my seat the whole time, getting the next book right now!

Just OK

I felt like this story has been done before. The character development was good but at times unrealistic. The Mom never really seemed "in touch" with true maternal emotions. Some parts were cheesy like how they called each other assigned nicknames even when they knew the real names. This book should be aimed more at teens - it read a bit like a made for TV movie.

Slow moving story with bland characters

The narrator seemed to have a slight lisp and the story never drew me in. Disappointing overall.

Even better than the Lizzie Gardner series

Teresa Ragan knocked it out of the park! I finished the book in just a few days with the audible.com app. I listened to it at home while I was cooking dinner as well as during my commute to and from work. Besides being entertained, I feel a lot more knowledgeable now about the whole human trafficking dilemma. I will be on pins and needles waiting for the next book to come out!

Sincerely,
Lori Mitchell RN

Wake up call as a parent!!!!

This audiobook gave a very realistic insight on the trafficking of children. Certain parts were hard to listen to knowing that these things are actually happening to these innocent babies and at the hands of these powerful monsters. On one side you have the greedy peddler abducting and pimping out innocent children and on the other you have a the lowest form of scum waiting in line to buy them...pure disgust!
Narration was outstanding!
I'm really looking forward to the next book in this series as I hate being left out there with a cliffhanger like this.

3.5 Stars For The Ciffhanger

When Faith McCann is left for dead, she wakes in the hospital to find that her children have been kidnapped by the men that killed her husband and tried to kill her. As soon as she is recovered, she wants answers. Why aren't the police more organized? Why can't they tell her if they have any suspects? What is it going to take to get her children back? She doesn't feel they are doing enough to find her children and decides to take matters into her own hands. Along the way she makes some allies that help her track down and put the hurt on a child trafficking ring of dirt bags.
This novel contains some pretty disturbing stuff. If a gruesome murder right off the bat isn't enough, there's the children being forced into the sex trade, being beaten, maimed, etc. I personally hate reading about that kind of thing and if you are sensitive, you may want to skip this one.
Faith is a great character, a mama bear out to rip the throats out of anyone that hurts her children. Unfortunately, the book ends with a cliffhanger but I believe the next book in the trilogy is already out, making it less of a nuisance.
The cliff hanger ending was disappointing and unsatisfying, especially after three hundred plus pages. But it did hold my interest despite it flaws and I will probably read the rest of the trilogy. 3.5 stars.
Kate Rudd was very good with the delivery of the story
