Publisher's Summary

Five women reluctantly leave the city for a challenging hike across the rugged Giralang Ranges as part of a corporate retreat. Only four come out the other side. Federal Police Agent Aaron Falk has a particularly keen interest in the whereabouts of the missing bushwalker.

Mildly Entertaining

I really didn’t enjoy listening to the narrator. I felt his voice distracted me too much. The story was only ok and I struggled to finish.

Didn't quite live up to The Dry

I loved The Dry by Jane Harper her first debut novel and was eager for the release of Force of Nature. This is a good book, and Harper is an excellent storyteller. But for me it definitely fell short. It was very slow to get into , and I found the mystery unravels very slowly - sometimes painfully so.

Harper's description of the landscape and the cold and wet atmosphere was bang on, I was shivering!!!

This book is a similar structure to The Dry with the story moving from past to present with each chapter, which helps to build the suspense.

I really like Harper's writing style and she develops great believable characters I can relate to. I really wanted to kill Alice Russell myself LOL!! But then on the flip side I didn't feel as connected to our hero Aaron Falk, as I did in The Dry.

All in all, it was an enjoyable book, but for me The Dry is so much better all round. I'd definitely love to see what Harper has coming next!!
