Publisher's summary

One night three years ago, the Tanner sisters disappeared: 15-year-old Cass and 17-year-old Emma. Three years later Cass returns without her sister, Emma. Her story is one of kidnapping and betrayal, of a mysterious island where the two were held. But to forensic psychiatrist Dr. Abby Winter, something doesn't add up. Looking deep within this dysfunctional family, Dr. Winter uncovers a life where boundaries were violated and a narcissistic parent held sway. And where one sister's return might just be the beginning of the crime.

Critic reviews

"Narrators Thérèse Plummer and Julia Whelan team up to deliver a twisted psychological thriller....Every crucial point in the story is supported by the intensity of narration." (AudioFile)

Could not stop listening

The combination of writing and narrating make this the perfect listen! I had not figured out the mystery until it was revealed at the very end, and the way the story was paced and unraveled made it addictive.

Totally Unexpected Delight!

Emma in the Night popped up on my recommended list several times but the descriptionnever got my attention. While struggling to find a good book, I gave it a more thorough review and noticed the narrators, both are fabulous, Julia Whelan one of my favorite. So I decided to give it a go. Was pleasantly surprised to be hooked from the get go and couldn't stop listening.

I was surprised!!!!

I was surprised at how much I loved this book. It had so many twists and turns, and just when I thought I knew what was going to happen next, I was surprised. I could not stop listening to it! And was satisfied with the ending, also something that does not always happen.

Finished in two sittings

I was starting to think I listened to all the good books in this genre already. This one was very good. I really enjoyed the psychology aspects of it the most.

Night or day, this is an amazing read.....

This is my second Wendy Walker book and she does not disappoint. Her characters are well developed and the storyline is very compelling. The book was impossible to put down and I highly recommend it.

Thrillingly clever

Deliciously perceptive and labyrinthine. Complicated and three-dimensional characters.
Can't wait to read her other books.
