Eve & Roarke face the worst yet

Devoted in Death was one of the more graphically violent ones to date. And you know it's bad when it shakes Dallas & Roarke. I fast forward through the descriptive torture scenes. Mavis was "off stage" and was missed along with Bella. A visiting deputy was a great addition and I hope he stays.
Still I'm glad I listened to it, because it showed new sides to the homicide department. It was actually fun to see Baxter a basket case over Trueheart's detective exam.

Time for a change

This theme seems to be worn out and the book was very much like the others ....just different names. I've enjoyed all the books until now. I hope Nora can come up with something more original with the next one. I also think it's about time Eve began getting past her youth since she has so much going for her now.

Sublime Torture

i've had a break for a couple of months after spending the past year going through the whole series (and just downloading the next one). i think that I will be going straight to that now to get the next fix.
Compelling listening from start to finish with good character development with the sub stories (Trueheart etc).
The murder scenes may change a little in nature but the stories are getting better as the characters develop because there is now more of a back story as the detective and friends families grow.
Can't wait to start the next one (in about 10 minutes once it downloads to my phone.

Didn't disappoint

Any additional comments?

I enjoyed this book. The Deputy being there was great. I knew Eve was going to end up with him in the house. That was good him seeing the house and how she works. The story was intense and reminded me of a previous book with the tortured victims but I still enjoyed it.

Getting tired of this series

As this is the 41st in the series it is time to end it. The character's have stagnated as certainly have the plots.
