Detective stories with a sherlockian flavor

Arthur Morrison was a contemporary of A C Doyle. The first few stories, featuring detective Martin Hewitt, are reminiscent of Sherlock Holmes, but without the richness of characters. The last two stories, whose main character is a detective who is secretly a criminal, save the collection and make it a good purchase. The narrator, Stephen Holloway, has a voice which fits the characters and subject matter.A good choice for this collection.
