Publisher's Summary

A dead witness. A forgotten crime. Hamish Macbeth never had it so hard as in this newest Highlands mystery!
When a local woman tells Sergeant Hamish Macbeth that she doesn't remember what happened the previous evening, he's not unduly worried. After all, she's been out drinking and he'd prefer not to be bothered with such an arrogant and annoying woman. But when her body is discovered in a ditch, Hamish is forced to investigate a crime that the only known witness - now dead - has forgotten....

Disappointing narration

Would you try another book from M. C. Beaton and/or Graeme Malcolm?

Beaton, yes, Malcolm definitely not.

Any additional comments?

After listening to at least a dozen Beaton novels, I will finish this one, but will listen to the samples before I buy another.

Boringly Narrated

If this book wasn’t for you, who do you think might enjoy it more?

Disappointed with the narration

What was most disappointing about M. C. Beaton’s story?

M C Beaton's story is fine but not brought to life by the narration.

Who might you have cast as narrator instead of Graeme Malcolm?

David Monteath

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Death of Yesterday?

None

Any additional comments?

Accents, dialects, pronunciation and empathy for the characters is missing - if this is your first look at Hamish Macbeth - don't! Start with book one and work your way to this book, which will help in listening to it.

Disappointed

Loved everything except the reader. After the first ten minutes was disappointed and only that I am a huge fan of these books and wanted to listen to the plot and characters I would have returned the book and had a space in the series.
Much prefer David Monteith reading.
