I really enjoyed this book. Loretta Ross has created two funny, intelligent, witty and well developed characters. Death and Wren are perfect together. I love how she tells other characters in the story that Death is hers. Wren and Death make a great team whether they are hanging out or investigating. The mystery that they are involved in this time, involves Death's brother. This is an emotional and engrossing story. If I could give it 10 stars I would. I can't wait for the next book.

The saga continues of Death (pronounced DEE-th) Bogart, P.I., and Wren Morgan, assistant auctioneer.
Death’s brother Randy died while Death was still deployed. Randy thought Death had been killed in the war. Death is trying to find closure concerning the death of his brother who died a year ago while fighting an arson fire. Now Death has to settle his brother's estate in St. Louis.
Two questions are nagging him: 1) as an experienced firefighter, why didn’t Randy get out of the building alive, and 2) why are there two badges that seemingly belong to Randy. One of the badges the corner has passed along from Randy’s uniform and the other the Chief has and knows to be Randy’s. The two badges have different numbers. Thus, the firehouse Chief has the same questions as Death. Filled with these two nagging questions, Wren joins Death in St. Louis looking for answers.
Two great mysteries in one with a surprise ending that can be read as a stand alone.

Brilliant, as are all the Auction Block mysteries. If you're looking for hot steamy sex scenes, then look elsewhere.
Loretta Ross has absolutely no need to pad her novels out with sex to sell books. Thank goodness for an author who can write fiction, not only, with three dimensional characters but a strong storyline that keeps me wanting the next book and the one after and so on.
Bless you too Amanda Ronconi for your fantastic narration. I first heard your voice in EJ Copperman's Haunted Guesthouse series and I've been hooked since then. You and your authors are a match made in heaven. You take the flat words and three dimensional characters, giving them life and colour, it's like watching a hologram with the ability to feel their emotions.
HINT TO AUDIBLE: More writers like Loretta Ross, EJ Copperman, Sophie Kelly, Rebecca Deel etc and pair them with Amanda Ronconi PLEASE.
