The books just get better and better!

Deal with the Devil
Sam Harlan, Vampire Hunter, Book 4
By: Kevin Lee Swaim
Narrated by: David Loving
This is an audible book I requested and the review is voluntary.
I am in love with this vampire series. This isn't your regular vamp hunting book. The more you kill, more more you turn into them in some ways. This book kept me glued to my tablet! Sam made a big change in this book, I didn't see it coming. Like the others, it has fast action with a faster pace. Great plot, well developed characters that I have come to love. A new and over interesting characters is introduced that is very unique! Wow! So creative and never dull! Kin love the writing flow, dialogue and interaction between the characters...that's what makes this special too.
The narrator is fantastic! The feelings, voices, the characters, all are always spot on! Great performance from start to finish!

1ST IN THE SERIES I'VE LISTENED TO, BUT LOVED IT!

I admit, this is the first in the series that I've listened to, so I probably can't give a "full/thorough" review, but I think I got the gist of it, and I'm now going to get the others also, because I loved it!! Loved the writing and the narration, and the story was dynamic! I love Sam & Callie, great characters and I look forward to reading more. I'd DEFINITELY recommend it! :) Great job!

A fantastic series

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

This has been a pretty entertaining and enjoyable series, so far. Each book feels like it could stand alone, so it's not bad to jump into the middle if you haven't started the series yet. That being said, you'll miss out on some great adventures if you skip one. Anyway, the narration continues to be great and I will definitely continue on with this series.

Best one yet.

When the Vampire Shefiff asks for your help, you help him! Which is exactly what Sam and Sister Callie do, but things aren't what they seem and poor Sam and Callie are in way over their heads. This could be the end for the dynamic duo!!

This was the best of the series so far. More action and adventure, more vampires, more killing and just more of everything!! The plot was more intense and had some truly surprising twists. We learn some things about some of the characters and Sam and Callie are in a fight for their lives. It was a roller coaster from start to finish.

We are introduced to some unique characters with this one. We get to meet some of the old ones and meet some vampire royalty. We also get to see more of The Sheriff, which I loved because is such an intriguing character. Thoroughly enjoyable edition to the series and I want more!!

David Loving read this well and was clear and concise, I did feel like there was something missing from this performance though. I can't pinpoint it but he wasn't as good reading this one as he was the previous one.

Another Good One

I got this story via audiobook and this is my voluntary review. This is book 4 in a series and each ones gets better. They build on each other but each of them can be understood alone. The narrator took the author's words and turned them into so much excitement and emotional emphasis that you could literally feel all of these things. The action and plot twists are well worth the edge of seat feelings you get as you listen to this story.

Win #4 for Kevin Lee Swaim

I was so excited to get this book so I could continue my Sam Harlan trip. This book takes you on a different trip than the 3 before. There is still the same type vampire hunting storyline that has makes a Sam Harlan novel, but we spin off to somewhere I hadn't thought we would go... and it worked! I wasn't sure how it would turn out once I realized the track we were headed down, but it turned out beautifully. Now the waiting game starts for the next book...

All around great

I did not know this was the 4th in the series when I requested this. To my surprise, it did not matter, this release could be a stand alone. There is just enough background to catch up with the story line.
The religious aspect is not overdone. But, it does have some very thought provoking moments that make you wonder.
The narrator's creative voices were right on. A good match for this author's series.
All and all I enjoyed this audio and will look for future releases.

Easy book to escape with

This is the second book I’ve read/listened to by this author. I’ve previously listened to Hard Times. Despite not having listened to Book 1 or 3, I find these stories easy to follow. The are not complex and each are essentially an individual story, despite being a part of a series. There is a main story thread and it comes to a conclusion at the end. There is some story carryover, hence the series.

This book has Sam and Sister Callie trying to determine why so many men are disappearing in Chicago. It’s not really Sam’s home turf, but with the direction of the vampire Sheriff they inquire with several of Chicago’s head vampires, and not all are as they seem. Of course it does not take long until they are in deeper than they expect and things start to get messy. They acquire help from someone unexpectedly, but it’s not clear if this is enough to overcome the obstacles.

This is the second book I’ve listened to by this narrator and I would love to listen to more. Once again he does a fantastic job narrating. He has the right amount of nonchalance and covers the tense moments well too. His female voices are good.

There are no explicit sex scenes, or excessive violence. There is the very occasional swear word if I remember correctly, but it’s not offensive.
