Publisher's Summary

The thrilling new novel in the number one New York Times best-selling series.
In Southeast Minnesota, down on the Mississippi, a school board meeting is coming to an end. The board chairman announces that the rest of the meeting will be closed, due to personnel issues. "Issues" is correct. The proposal up for a vote before them is whether to authorize the killing of a local reporter. The vote is four to one in favor.
Meanwhile, not far away, Virgil Flowers is helping out a friend by looking into a dognapping, which seems to be turning into something much bigger and uglier - a team of dognappers supplying medical labs - when he gets a call from Lucas Davenport. A murdered body has been found - and the victim is a local reporter.

Best in this series

Loved this installment. A little lighter. I actually laughed out loud twice at some of the dialogue. The story kept me interested throughout, and the narration was excellent.

AWESOME, FUNNY SANDFORD AT HIS BEST

Would you consider the audio edition of Deadline to be better than the print version?

I only listen, eyes can't handle print anymore.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Deadline?

The humor! Feels good to laugh.

Which scene was your favorite?

All of it to hard to pick out just one.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yes like I said laughter nothing better than that.

Any additional comments?

Eric Conger is GOOD great voice great sound. I don't know maybe I have a sick sence of humor but I really enjoyed this book. Thanks John and Eric.
