Publisher's summary

The West Coast crime cartel known as "The Organization" has been beset by a series of problems: members are being murdered and merchandise hijacked. In walks troubleshooter Flagg, whose methods are those of a sharp-witted detective rather than a criminal. Soon he lays bare a plot behind the Organization's front - and now everyone is in danger.

Good Audio book

I first discovered The Dresden Files series on NetFlix and was instantly hooked. I was nervous about reading Jim Butcher's books after seeing the series, worrying that my preconceptions and possible knowledge of plotlines might take away from the experience, but there's so much more to the characters and stories that I didn't even think of the TV series as I listened. Wonderful characters, wonderful stories, wonderful prose. I liked Marster's narration better in the second book. In fact, as much as I loved the first book, I found the second far more enjoyable, suspenseful,

Slow slow slow

Any additional comments?

This audiobook was provided by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review courtesy of Audiobook Blast. In all fairness I'm not a fan of mysteries, and this book held true to that for me. Not the worst book, but I'm glad I didn't waste a credit on it.

The plot thickens!

If you could sum up Day of the Moon in three words, what would they be?

quick-paced suspense

What other book might you compare Day of the Moon to and why?

Reminded me of the Al Capone bootleg era.

Which scene was your favorite?

I liked when he was trying to save his girl friend from the bad guys.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Not really.

Great crime noir fiction

Would you listen to Day of the Moon again? Why?

Yes. It was a good story with a solid main character who is a tough PI who gets the job done.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Day of the Moon?

I liked the way that on finding the illegal moonshine operation he goes in sorts it out and shuts it down. There's no messing with Flagg. Calling him a troubleshooter is certainly the right term!

What about Jack de Golia’s performance did you like?

I liked the narration it added to the crime noir feel of the book. Very good.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. In fact I listened to it all in one sitting whilst driving in my car.

Troubleshooter for hire

Fragg is a troubleshooter for "the organization" which means he is a private eye without rules. He gets in figures out the problem and then solves it. This time when a few trucks have their bootlegged load stolen he is sent in to figure out who took the stuff and where they are taking it. He not only find where they took it but also stumbles onto an illegal moon shining operation. With a bang he shuts them down.
