An almost 5 star thriller!

Darkness is Book 2 in the Captain Riley historical thriller series by Spanish author Fernando Gamboa. In this novel Captain Riley and his boat/small ship crew are serving the US government in Africa during the early stages of World War II. In the Belgium Congo they run into a particularly bad cannibal German scientist determined to develop a virus that will kill 80% of humanity. The characters are well developed. Suspense is intense at times. Overall, Darkness is a nicely told tale which I enjoyed. Narration is excellent.
