Ex-homicide cop Frank Quinn is still reeling in the wake of an elaborate setup that ended his career, but a new case presents a chance to salvage his reputation. A killer dubbed "The Night Prowler" has begun terrorizing the citizens of New York City. Unseen, he enters couples' homes. Unsuspected, he lingers until the perfect moment arrives to murder his victims.

With the body count climbing, it's up to Quinn to unlock the mystery of a madman's past and end his bloody reign of terror. Quinn has his work cut out for him, because in the city of New York, any one of eight million faces could be that of a killer - or his next target.

Too much

I very much enjoy modern detective novels. I enjoy listening to Scott Brick as the narrator of many of the books available on Audible. This is the first time in probably 200 books that I've enjoyed that I turned it off within the first hour of the book. Too graphic of sex, murder, thoughts of the characters, etc. In my opinion it was too much.

Great Twist

I truly enjoyed this book. It's the first book I've listened to from this author and it had a great ending. Kept me guessing till the end.

Highly Reccommend

This was my first read of a John Lutz Book. I mainly ordered it because of Scott Brick. I was not disappointed by either. I did not figure it out until the very end although there was quite a bit of misdirection on the author’s part. Anyway, I will continue listen to Lutz and definitely continue to listen to Scott Brick.

A real thriller that ends with a fizzle...

This is a story involving the complicated and interesting life of several evil people, a falsely accused ex-cop and two misfit homicide partners. There's bad cops in high places, a truly evil killer, and for much of the book they have the upper hand.

The hunt I involves good police work under dark political clouds. All of this has the making of a 5 star story. However, at the conclusion we are left with less than 15 minutes of explanation which left much to be explained.

Scott Brick deserves 5 stars on this one.

An Amazing Psychological Suspense Thriller

And it takes a lot to take me to the edge. It takes me a lot no tot be able to put a book down...period. But this book had it all. I began to figure out the main plot about half way through but even then i had to wait for confirmation on all i suspected. WOW i can't say enough about being carried away with absolute mystery. Da da da da- That all folks, you will have to read this book to get what i mean. And as usual - thank you Scott Brick for such a great narration!

Great work!!!

This was a very good book in my opinion and Brick did a fantastic job, as always. I especially liked Quinn and his team. I found myself rooting for them, especially Quinn, the lead character. Ending was a shocker too.

A good listen

This was my first book by this author and i enjoyed it. I generally read crime fiction and this was entertaining. Good characters and plot etc. There were a couple week points here and there where i didn't quite buy the circumstances (one in particular near the end) but on the whole, i liked this story. The narration was good too.

Best new author for me

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes - keeps you on the edge of your seat - lovely little twist at the end.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Darker Than Night?

The twist

What does Scott Brick bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I enjoy listening to books as I drive - had to go around the block a couple of times to get to a place where I could stop

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

?

Any additional comments?

This is a first time "listen" to this author - won't be the last.
