Publisher's summary

From the world's number one best-selling author comes the newest book in the blockbuster Private series....

Santosh Wagh quit his job as head of Private India after harrowing events in Mumbai almost got him killed. But Jack Morgan, global head of the world's finest investigation agency, needs him back. Jack is setting up a new office in Delhi, and Santosh is the only person he can trust.

Still battling his demons, Santosh accepts, and it's not long before the agency takes on a case that could make or break them. Plastic barrels containing dissolved human remains have been found in the basement of a house in an upmarket area of South Delhi. But this isn't just any house; this property belongs to the state government.

With the crime scene in lockdown and information suppressed by the authorities, delving too deep could make Santosh a target to be eliminated.

False advertising

I liked the initial book in the Private series. This book, however, is one where James Patterson put his name on something to get it published. It is an Indian book with Indian customs and characters. The narrator is at times hard to understand. While there is nothing wrong with a book about India, I feel I was mislead by Patterson's name and the description of the book. I'm only 5 chapters in and would return it if I could

Horrible!!!!

This book is a disappointment. The narrator makes it impossible to hear the story. I listened for about 1 hour and gave up. I love the series. Sooo ridiculously BAD!!! A true waste of money.

Surprise...did not finish

I was seriously disappointed by this book. Patterson normally write books I love but this one was terrible...read three quarters of it and gave up...did not finish, first time ever for a Patterson book. He's one of my favorite writers!

C'Mon James, I expect more

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

It was awful. I can't even finish it. The narrator is hard to understand him at times. The storyline is clunky. It seems like it was written in five minutes just to get it out. I've enjoyed the Private series but this is awful. VERY disappointed and wasted my money.

Would you ever listen to anything by James Patterson and Ashwin Sanghi again?

Nope

Would you be willing to try another one of Sartaj Garewal’s performances?

Nope

Very Disappointing for the Private series

I was very disappointed in this book. I love the Private series, but this story fell flat. I never connected with any of the characters and never got a feel for India. Other than comments on traffic, it could have been set anywhere. In addition, the narrator was terrible. I appreciated the Indian accent, but his female, children and American accents were chalkboard grating. Unless you really love the Private series, save your credit.

Private

I have read all the Private novels I am sorry to say this is the worst one I ever read. The story was confusing the names were confusing and the narrator was hard to understand. I loved all the other novels but don’t expect too much from this particular one.

Narrator goes way over the top!

The story isn’t bad, and the narrator’s voice is fine when he’s just reading content from the book. However, when he starts reciting dialogue from the characters, he goes so far over the top that i’m regularly laughing even though it might be a serious topic. It really affects the enjoyment of the book
