Publisher's summary

Jacob just wanted to have a good time with his friend Samantha and fellow geeks at the fan convention. But when dead bodies start turning up, Jacob has to start a little early on his hoped-for detective career. After all, the police are out of their depth in a world where nearly everyone wears a costume or uses an alias.

But Jacob has a secret of his own, and it looks like someone is bent on revealing him to the entire con. If Jacob's history comes out, his police career will end before it begins, even if he can find the killer. And if he can't, more fans will die.

Cozy Comic Con Mystery.

i had a blast listening to Con Job by Laura VanArendonk Baugh. The mystery is complex without being confusing and the characters are all nerdy and endering.

the narrator differentiated between characters with a voice change which is always entertaining.

A nice surprise

Great blend of more than just a little snark, a true love of con geekdom, and a self realization perspective. I listened to this because I enjoyed the author’s Kitsune series books. This really was a delightful surprise. It got deeper and twistier as it went and kept me trying to sneak more moments to listen.

Great character development and witty!

Would you consider the audio edition of Con Job to be better than the print version?

Did not read the print version.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Con Job?

Several of them.... probably the most exciting was when everything came to a head in Con ops. I do not want to give the plot but it was action packed and easy to follow even with the numerous characters.

What does Ron Welch bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He brought the characters to life.

Any additional comments?

The author is witty. I was intrigued by the characters and as I kept listening, I could not wait to get back to the story to find out what was going to happen next!
