riveting story

I like the David Wolf, Patterson and Ratchet characters. riveting story and storyline. kept me listening even after I got to my destination. I've been listening on my way to work and on my way to visit family and friends.

Just okay ..

I like a story that gives you enough clues to figure it out.... this one just dumps the whole load on your head at the end. Boom.

Love the David wolf series always action packed and suspenseful never a dull moment very rich characters!

Great start and Ending

Enjoyed the narrator did a find job. Jeff Carson this book is my first book and listen to of his. I will read more of his book very entertaining for me!

Love this series

Good story line,. All the characters are believable and interesting. Happy to find a new favorite author. The author also comes up with descriptive words that are not all tired and worn out. Nice and refreshing.

Excellent story and a great narrator

I loved this book. This is the 5th book in the series and I didn't know that when I bought it..but it didn't matter. It was a fabulous story and the narrator did a great job. I have already gotten the first book in the David Wolf series and will be reading all of them!

Great listen as usual.

David Wolf's appeal, as I believe the author intended is his humanness. He is flawed, his personal life sometimes is in shambles. David's intuitive investigatory mind works in the background just bite many trials and tribulations.

Gritty fast paced suspense procedural...

Wow! If I thought the first four books were good, this one is amazing!
This book involves two counties sheriff departments merging and David Wolf being sucked into a dirty fight to keep his position as sheriff.
After the severed head is fished out of a lake, it reopens a case that began two decades ago. But it now appears that the murderer never left the area because he's gone into full swing again. As divers search the lake more bodies are found. People in town are getting killed and Wolf hasn't a clue who's doing this. And then he looses someone very close to him.
Meanwhile there's a beautiful woman living alone and isolated in the woods on a mountain. Wolf fears for her safety, her parents both disappeared 20 years ago when Wolf's father (who was sheriff at that time) was investigating.
What Wolf finds when he starts digging into other towns and counties leads him to someone very close to home. Someone who almost kills him and his deputies.
The tension ratchets up and I couldn't put this down. The author does a great job fleshing out believable characters. He. vividly describes the environment and locations making it easy to "see".
Narration by Sean Patrick Hopkins is excellent.
This series has my HIGHEST RECOMMENDATIONS.
