When Jamie Aldrich was 11 years old, she and her siblings spent the summer with her great aunt Elizabeth. This mystery, set in the present day in the old town of Pawhuska, Oklahoma, gives the listener a chilling introduction to some forgotten history of the Osage Nation, circa 1920s. Back then, the Twenties "roared" and oil was being discovered everywhere in northern Oklahoma. Savvy Osages had seen to it that the property they bought from the Cherokee Nation for their reservation, included not just surface rights, but all mineral rights. The Boom made them wealthy, and attracted unscrupulous persons who preyed upon them. The murders and kidnapping attracted national attention, and became the first case investigated by the newly formed FBI. Cobwebs delves into hidden family history, and present day deceptions and vendettas.

Finding History about your heritage

This is a fantastic story
It has a lot of historical information. It is well worth listening to.I couldn't wait to hear more. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves a historical story.

Cobwebs kept me occupied and interested all the way through the story. I’ll be looking for another Mary Coley story soon.

Nice mix of fiction and historical fact

This was a good mystery story with a foundation on real historical facts about the Osage people in Oklahoma. As with so many Native American historical facts, what happened to the Osage people was horrible. This story entwined that historical fact into a fictional story about Jamie and her forgotten childhood past. The story was well written and kept me listening to see what happened and who was behind it all. Nice historical recap at the end about the history of the Osage people and the tragedies they endured. Certainly worth reading or listening to.

Creepy Cobwebs

The suspenseful story uncovers secrets so deep that the FBI was created to uncover them! I read the book before listening to the audible version, and I was quite pleased with the way Reagan Boggs breathed life into the characters. Her calm, light southern drawl reminded me of my cousins in rural Oklahoma. I've already read the next two books in the series and look for to hearing the audible versions of those!
