Ms. Hannah's work is all her own, and wonderful.

I've read nearly all of her novels so far--a good and proper addiction!

When she turns her attention to Poirot, a wonderful thing happens, as Hannah applies her unique talent for plot, character and surprise to his new cases: the Poirot we know shows heart to match his prodigious brain, and grapples with motives, crimes and suspects just a shade more strange than he ever has before.

The performance by Julian Rhind-Tutt is flawless. As with many superior actors, he registers, and then disappears into Poirot, Edward, an Irish Lady, her caustic daughter, and the Garda, among many other characters. I have seen him perform many times, he's always wonderful, and his work here is no exception.

If you're a Sophie fan, you won't be disappointed. Her unique take on character is here. For Dame Agatha fans, this book, as well as its predecessor, will be a joy!

I enjoyed this

Keeping in mind that my exposure to Hercule Poirot has been primarily through PBS dramatizations, I enjoyed this rendering. It seemed fairly consistent in terms of environment, tension and complexity, but Poirot's final explication of who did what leading up to "whodunnit " was a bit drawn out.
