When a young woman is found murdered in a seedy massage parlor near his neighborhood, the police recruit Randall Lee, an American acupuncturist and Tai Chi master, as a translator and expert in Chinese culture, to assist in the investigation. Lee discovers that the murderer is an expert in a forbidden Chinese martial art - the dark mirror to his own healing practices - and joins in the hunt for the killer to escape his own inner demons and save the woman he loves.
"Charles Colyott is a fresh and bold new voice on the mystery scene. Just when you think it has all been done before, here comes Randall Lee." (Scott Nicholson, author of Liquid Fear)
"Charles Colyott's novel Changes is a stunner. A thrill-ride from start to finish that will stay with you long after you've finished the last page. The characters are unique in detective lore, the situations are mesmerizing and together they draw the reader into a world quite unlike anything previously encountered. Read this book to learn, laugh, and fall in love with a brilliant young writer's work." (Lisa Mannetti, two-time Bram stoker nominee and winner, The Gentling Box)

Amazing first book in series!!
Absolutely, I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a great mystery. This is my first "martial arts" mystery and I was a little worried that it might be too heavy on the Tai Chi and too weak on the plot. Boy was I wrong! Obviously there is some fighting in the book(the main character is a Tai Chi master after all) but in no way does it over power the plot of the book-it compliments it. The characters are well developed and 3 dimnensional especially Randall Lee with his sarcastic wit and the "master" with his broken English foul mouth. Charles Colyott has wriiten and narrated a very impressiive and unique first book mystery. I gave the book 4 stars for performance because of the slight tin canny sound of the narration but it didn't really bother me so much that I didn't enjoy the book. One more thing guys, this book actually has an ending rather than a damn cliffhanger! Will definitely be listening to "Pressure Points", Randall Lee Mystery book 2 as soon as it comes to Audible.
I can't say off hand. This is my first Tai Chi mystery listen.
He's good with accents and he does bring the characters to life.
No, not really, but i'm not really a sentimental guy.
I've said enough i think.
Kept my interest all the way through
