In this audiobook, read by famed narrator Basil Sands, Samantha Reid is back as White House Director of Homeland Security, dealing with national security threats of every dimension. She receives intelligence about a plot so staggering, it could imperil the nation's communications, Internet, electricity grid - even transportation and aviation. It involves the creation of an Electro-Magnetic Pulse ("EMP") that would "fry" all electronics. It could set us back to the year 1910.
Meanwhile, her love interest, Tripp Adams, is sent overseas to a troubled region. Will he become involved in the plot? Will he be able to escape before disaster strikes? (Don't be too sure.)
Scenes inside the White House are convincingly described by the author, who served in the West Wing as Senior Director of the National Security Council. Listen to conversations in the Situation Room and the Oval Office. Join Samantha and Tripp as they deal with international tensions and political intrigue in this explosive sequel to Final Finesse, also available in audio from Basil Sands.

The real world is a rough place.
Yes. Bodman writes about threatening situations that really exist and are seldom discussed. Castle Bravo, written a couple of years ago describes a potential global catastrophe which is the subject of a hot new TV series, "Revolution". The series is science fiction. Bodman's story is based on real situations.
If you like good and educational thrillers by the top authors, you will like this one. The author knows her subject well and develops convincing characters.
The narrator read well, but the voice is irritating to me. I like a deeper voice.
It took about 4 sittings.
Bodman is an author who will endure. This is her fourth good book.
