Publisher's Summary

Penguin presents the unabridged downloadable audiobook edition of Broken Heart by Tim Weaver, read by Joe Coen and John Chancer.
A woman drives to a beautiful headland overlooking the Devon coast. She is never seen again, and no trace of where she went can be found. The woman's sister calls missing persons investigator David Raker. As Raker tries to find her whereabouts - fearing the worst - he learns that she was recently widowed from a reclusive film director.
It seems that, going through her husband's belongings, she found a secret so dark and shocking that it forced her to leave her entire life behind. Chasing the truth will consume Raker and place him in grave danger....

Joining the dots

This is the first time I have heard a story with two narrators. It worked, but it took time to reason and understand why. It was much the same with the whole story too. It was a bit difficult to get the bigger picture, but gradually it began to fall into place; all the pieces of the puzzle started to become clearer. The characters were in the main a very unsympathetic bunch which made the story difficult to plough through, especially when the tale became particularly violent.

I think that by the end I was still there because I was as dogged a listener as Riker was a tracker and wanted closure on a rather unsavoury story.

It was no bed of roses, but eventually it did all make sense. Ian not sure if I would buy anymore of these books, buts there are and counter-balanced by curiosity about an unsavoury story well-told.

Not his best

Had this been the first that I read, I don't think I would have read others. This is the fourth or fifth so I know there is a chance that the next one will return to the former standard. Maybe if I read the book instead of listening it would be better.

Bland Monotone Boring

Forgot I'd listened before and downloaded again. One 30 second listen and oh no, not this book again. DELETE BAN.

awesome but a complex story

quite a complex story line with this book but worthwhile to hang in there. As usual Raker gets himself almost killed a few times throughout bit the twists and turns just keep coming. enthralling book and one of the best of the series.
