Enjoyable.

This was an easy and quick listen and one I listened to in a day.

The plot was simple yet something that could easily happen! Multiple EMPs are set off in America, resulting in electronics gone etc. But with this book, the government knew it would happen so were somewhat prepared. This one follows husband and wife, John and Laura, trying to get home. I liked the fact that John and Laura were ordinary people and only had the basic idea of survival by watching prepper shows, and the internet. It was nice that they weren't the "prepper" type!

While I did enjoy this, the whole plot was what I consider forgettable. It wasn't that action packed nor fast paced. It just kind of plodded along. It ended with a cliff hanger which is why I may continue on with the series but I'm not sure. It's not high on my list though.

Kevin Pierce did a great job with this, just like he has done with every other book I've listened to that he has narrated. He has a smooth, easy to listen to voice and one that's suited to these kind of books.

*I received this for review. This in no way affected my thoughts.*

Post apocalyptic sub genre at its best

I have recently discovered another sub genre of the post apocalypse. The EMP post apocalypse, instead of zombies, plagues, nuclear war etc. it is quite unique and interesting and this one does not disappoint. Well written, well researched, great little prepper tips on how to make and do things without the aid of manufacturing power of big industry, farming, tech etc. it has the obligatory power hungry military, roving gangs, isolated farms and your classic small hero group. Thoroughly enjoyed. I received this audiobook from the author narrator or publisher for free via audiobookboom in exchange for an unbiased review
